ANSWERS TO OUR NEIGHBORHOOD QUIZ

  1. What is being built at Unser Crossing? How do you give input?
    • A shopping center with anchor stores being Lowe's, CVS, and Defined fitness. The developer is requesting input from surrounding Neighborhood Associations including ours. Attend our meetings to give your input.

  2. What type of sports complex is being planned near Paseo de Vulcan and I-40?
    • Albuquerque Public Schools is buidling a 7,000 seat football stadium/track, 12 tennis courts, four soccer fields,and four baseball diamonds. Attend our meeting to see what else is being planned for the area.

  3. Do you know how to prevent crime in your neighborhood?
    • Officers from the Southwest Substation attend our meetings and are interested in what residents have to say. Also, we are seeking people interested in heading Neighborhood Watch programs for their block. It's easy and a great way to meet your neighbors. Attend our next meeting for more information.

  4. What is the easiest way to meet your city councilor, county officals and state legislators?
    • Attend our meeting. Our City Counselor Ken Sanchez, State Representative Moe Maestas, and State Senator Bernadette Sanchez and other local dignitaries regularly attend our meetings.

MISSION STATEMENT:

We, the members of the West Mesa Neighborhood Association (WMNA), strive to enhance the area we live in, and to promote a better neighborhood and community through group action, so that we can improve the quality of life in our neighborhood to the level that is in keeping with the social, environmental, cultural and historic needs and interests of our neighbors. We are committed to ensuring that our neighbors have a safe, pleasant and professional atmosphere in which to work and live.

It is our intent to maintain the trust of our neighbors by being honest, compassionate and consistent in our beliefs and actions. We will hold ourselves to the highest standard of personal and professional ethical conduct in dealing with neighborhood issues.
